IOLLA

Scottish based eyewear company iOLLA has been supporting Orbis under the umbrella of Live by Giving, one of the company’s four key values, since 2016.

Established in 2014, iOLLA (meaning “sight” in the Gaelic language) is a business aimed at making shopping for eyewear simple, affordable and fun. They have worked hard to streamline the process of bringing eyewear to customers by designing glasses in-house and partnering with factories so that they can provide higher-quality, better-looking eyewear at a fraction of the current high street prices.

In 2018, iOLLA donated £2,500 towards Orbis’s work in Ethiopia helping us to tackle trachoma, a blinding infectious disease that is highly prevalent in the country. iOLLA has engaged staff and customers by displaying information cards within the stores offering Orbis a platform to raise awareness and iOLLA an opportunity to showcase their charity support.

Kirsty Humpherson, Marketing Associate, iOLLA says;

Orbis’s amazing work in Ethiopia over the past 20 years has made a substantial difference. With the population almost doubling within that time, there is still much more work to be done. This is why we are thrilled to contribute to the incredible efforts taking place there and continue to improve our support for sustainable eye care programmes that change lives.”
