Southampton Airport

Southampton International Airport, the 18th busiest airport in the UK, chose to support Orbis after hearing about the charity at the Airport Operator Association’s (AOA) Annual Dinner.

Since 2014, the airport has raised funds for Orbis by hosting a foreign currency globe in its departure lounge. Individuals travelling through the busy airport can make financial donations, big or small, using the currency of their choice.

Since the partnership began, the airport has raised over £10,000 for Orbis with more than £2,600 through over 150kg of donated coins in 2018 alone!

Whilst also supporting a charity that is local to the airport, Southampton International Airport is proud to support Orbis UK with its power to harness aviation for good through the Flying Eye Hospital.

Neil Garwood, Managing Director at Southampton Airport, said:

We are delighted to hear that Orbis were able to raise more than £2600 through the globe in our Departures Lounge. It’s a great charity, and we would like to thank all of our passengers for their generous donations.
