Stephen Pau running

Orbis supporter going the extra mile

This is Stephen Pau who's been part of the Orbis family for over eight years now. Stephen is a huge inspiration to us all here at Orbis with his heroic fundraising efforts.

A few weeks back Stephen completed one of the most gruelling foot races in Europe and raised a whopping £6,000 to help fight blindness. What a legend.

The Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc® - TDS  is 119km of ups and downs and sweat and tears, all taking place at an altitude of as high as 2600m.  Yikes!

Stephen crossed the finishing line in an amazing 32 hours 28 minutes even though he twisted his ankle during his intense training regime - meaning he had to miss several crucial weeks of fitness conditioning.

As you can imagine Stephen felt ‘relieved and got total satisfaction from finishing the race’ and is already looking forward to his next adventure.

I embrace challenge and look forward to doing another race with similar or even harder difficulty again.

Stephen has a message to all his family and friends who supported him throughout the challenge:

Thank you to each and every single one of the more than 130 friends who sponsored me. With this money, a lot of people will benefit from it and can get their eyesight restored. I want to use this opportunity to develop a deeper awareness amongst my family, friends and acquaintances about the mission and work of Orbis to help restore vision to thousands of people, and bring back light, colour and joy to their lives.

Well Stephen you’re certainly doing that. Once again a big thank you from everyone at Orbis for your amazing commitment to the fight against blindness.
