Blink to the Beat Challenge

Join the Orbis Blink to the Beat Challenge on Instagram to help raise awareness of trachoma.

This blinding condition can lead to agony with every blink and permanent blindness. Yet despite being the leading cause of infectious blindness in the world, trachoma receives less attention and funding than many other diseases.

Help change this, and help make trachoma history by 2030 by taking on the Orbis Blink to the Beat challenge

I am doing the Orbis ‘Blink to the Beat Challenge’ to help raise awareness of trachoma and the fight to eliminate this disease by 2030.

On average we blink 15 to 20 times per minute without realising. But for many people infected with trachoma – every one of these blinks can bring agony.

Trachoma is the leading infectious cause of blindness worldwide. Nearly two million people globally live with sight loss or blindness due to the disease. In advanced stages of the disease, eyelids turn inwards and scratch the surface of the eye, causing blindness.

But the end of trachoma is in sight. You can support Orbis’s work to help eliminate trachoma in Ethiopia by 2030. Follow @Orbis_UK for more details.

I challenge @, and @ to take on the Blink Challenge, together we can help eliminate trachoma and end avoidable blindness for all.
