OMK Design

Since 1965, OMK have developed a focused range of seating systems to enhance public spaces. To celebrate World Sight Day 2019, OMK were delighted to announce their partnership with Orbis with the introduction of a donation on the sale of every seat sold.

OMK was formed in 1965 by Rodney Kinsman RDI who began designing and manufacturing much of the furniture for the then embryonic Habitat chain. In 1980 they were approached by the British Airport Authority (BAA) to design a seating system for Gatwick Airport.

This triggered a move into public sector seating resulting in a further commission in 1990 to design a seating system for British Rail. Since then OMK have further expanded their range to satisfy the evolving needs of public area seating. Speaking of the partnership, Matt Osborne, Managing Director of OMK said:

We are very pleased to partner with Orbis and the great work that they do. As a supplier to airports globally we understand that we have a responsibility to give back to local communities and our pleased that a percentage of our sales go towards supporting the flying eye hospital.

And Matt Coleman, Corporate Partnerships Manager at Orbis UK, said:

We are delighted to celebrate a new partnership with one of aviation’s most iconic seating companies and look forward to seeing the partnership grow over time.
