Volunteer faculty eligibility

Given the Orbis Flying Eye Hospital is the world's only fully accredited ophthalmic teaching hospital on board an MD-10 aircraft, we require all prospective and current Volunteer Faculty to meet and maintain our strict credentialing criteria to be granted clinical privileges.

Orbis Volunteer Faculty requirements include:

  • Five years’ experience post completion of academic training or a minimum of five years ophthalmic nursing experience
  • Active medical/nursing license or registration
  • Available copies of all relevant diplomas and certificates
  • Board certification or equivalency in country of primary practice
  • Active hospital privileges (for programs that involve direct patient care)
  • Two references from current or previous Orbis Volunteer Faculty

Even if you aren't eligible to join our Volunteer Faculty at this moment, why not stay in touch by signing up to our newsletter.
