Orbis and Visulytix collaborate on new AI technology

September 2018

Orbis is collaborating with AI company Visulytix to apply their imaging technology to Orbis's telemedicine platform Cybersight.

Visulytix applies innovative AI-powered software to ophthalmology to help doctors diagnose eye diseases in low-resource countries around the world.

Its Pegasus AI system analyses images of the back of the eye taken with any standard retina camera, or smartphone. Images are sent through Cybersight to Visulytix’s cloud service, and the AI system returns a report to Cybersight in just eight seconds, with analysis of the retina image.

Eye doctors in low-resource countries will be amongst the first in the world to have access (at no cost) to this service, helping them detect and diagnose serious eye diseases such as diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration and glaucoma, as well as quickly request a second opinion from Orbis’s network of medical experts.
