Special Edition OMEGA Watch Auction Receives Winning Bid of £10,000 for Orbis

The Swiss watchmaker OMEGA supported us at the prestigious Orbis Visionaries reception at London’s iconic Battersea Power Station. The event included a silent auction for a Speedmaster 38 mm Orbis timepiece, which received a winning bid of £10,000—a watch that symbolises OMEGA’s enduring commitment to the fight against preventable blindness.

The evening brought together high-profile guests, including Susannah Constantine and Tom Davies to celebrate innovation in global eye care and explore Orbis’s ambitions for the next five years. Since 2011, OMEGA has been a steadfast supporter of Orbis and its Flying Eye Hospital, the world’s only fully accredited ophthalmic teaching hospital on board a plane, helping to deliver high-quality eye care to some of the world’s most remote communities.

In addition to vital funding, and support of the evening, OMEGA has championed Orbis’s mission through the provision of teddy bears to young patients, as well as through global awareness campaigns featuring brand ambassadors such as Cindy Crawford and Daniel Craig. Their continued support underscores a shared vision: a world where no one is needlessly blind.

The Road To 2030:

The next five years are crucial to achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, a global effort to end poverty and inequality by 2030, ensuring access to health, justice, and opportunity for all. To succeed, no one can be left behind and that includes those living with vision loss.

When people can access quality eye care, it doesn’t just restore sight, it transforms lives, strengthens communities, and boosts local economies.

Orbis shares this vision for 2030. We’re committed to saving sight around the world by expanding school screening programmes, supporting low-income workers, and training the next generation of eye care professionals – helping create a more equal, healthier future for everyone.
