Cataracts can have a devastating impact on a person’s ability to work and even carry out everyday tasks. Yet a quick and straightforward operation can make all the difference.

£77 could restore a child’s sight

Every minute a child lives with an untreated eye condition, the more severe and permanent the damage could become - increasing the chance they will face a lifetime of blindness.

We work within the coffee industry, and Ethiopia is thought by many to be the birthplace of coffee, and the Sidama region. We're supporting Orbis's work to help protect people in the Sidama region of Ethiopia from blinding trachoma.

Supporting eye care in developing countries is an important issue I would like to contribute to. As a member of the Ear Drop foundation working in Kenya and Ethiopia I experienced that restoration of sensory functions can make a huge difference.

Many years ago in 1996 as a medical student I did research on diabetic retinopathy in Zimbabwe. Seeing the impact and effect of the eye care on people’s lives there I choose to become an opthalmologist and I have never regretted that choice.
