Our work in Bolivia

Orbis started work in Bolivia in 2017 to help train a new generation of ophthalmologists.

Avoidable Blindness in Bolivia

There are an estimated 1.3 million people with vision loss in Bolivia. Of these, 61,000 people are living with blindness.

Nearly 40% of Bolivians live below the poverty line. The country lacks the resources - as well as the necessary infrastructure, equipment and technology - to provide high quality eye health services.
